I like the colour green, it’s the best colour I have seen.
Blue makes me feel sea sick.
Red reminds me of chilies, far too hot!
Grey makes me think of rain clouds, cold and damp.
Yellow is a sour colour like lemons.
Purple makes me sleepy.
Orange makes me think of orange cheese – YUCK!
Pink smells of muddy pigs.
White I here silence.
Black is like a switched off TV – not for me!
But green is the best colour I’ve seen.
Green is limes, mushy peas, Wimbledon, astro turf, ribbons, Christmas trees, teacher’s pens! It’s watering cans, bottles of Sprite (not sprouts) and garden ponds.
The crowd roars as the ball hits the back of the net.
I run and skid onto my muddy, scabby and blooded knees, my arms outstretched, sucking up the glory.
My feet lift off the ground as my team mates raise me up into the sky on their shoulders.
I follow my captain up the stairs towards the cup, held up by a smartly dressed man with gleaming white teeth and matching hair.
He hands it to us and we raise it up as the stadium rumbles.
Above the crowd, I hear a slight buzzing sound. Through blurry eyes I see my ballet shoes and beside them my football boots.
‘Wake up!’ I hear my mum shout.
Blue is for Manchester City
Laughing together under clear skies
Understanding each other, whatever our differences
Every colour – we are eeverycolour!
We are the world’s blossoming flower.
We are the next generation.
Making the world a better place every hour.
Our dreams are our creation.
So feel the sun on your face.
Have some resilience.
The world is a vibrant place.
Enjoy it with significance.
Respect others and they’ll respect you,
Little or short.
Both can play sports,
Older, younger – both can too.
Everyday is new,
New people to meet from the queue.
No matter if black or white,
We are the best – all right?
If you believe in yourself, you can kick a football into the rainbow.
The colours dance on the ground and scatter through the green grass.
The ball stays still.
Believe in yourself
Lead my heart
Ucan do anything
Everything is OK!
I want to dream about winning.
That really good feeling.
And everyone believing.
I will kick the ball.
Everyone will be cheering.
I will be happy,
Win a trophy
And make history.
