St Wilfrid's CE
This Lion scored a brilliant free kick early in the game and gave us all hope.
His tireless effort, excellent crosses and piercing passes have contributed to one of the strongest performances from any of England’s squad.
Football may not be coming home, but we can still dare to dream!
What I like about football is that it is very entertaining and I like it when the managers get angry and the cameraman does a close-up on them.
I also like the fact that when the players score a goal one side of the pitch is cheering and the other side boos. It makes me feel like the pitch has torn apart and when I’m sat in the middle my heart starts to race!
Year 5 at St Wilfrid’s CE Primary asked their class teacher the following questions…
Who is your favourite football player and why?
My favourite football player has to be Harry Kane after his excellent performances in the World Cup this year.
Do you think boys and girls could play football together in the future?
Most definitely, our school have mixed teams and this should certainly be something to consider – perhaps the FA could look into this.
What would you do if you saw someone being left out because of their beliefs, skin colour or race?
I would endeavour to include them in sports, deliver talks and speeches and promote Everycolour to highlight the fact that nobody should be left out.
Why do you think people fight over things that don’t matter?
Sometimes, people don’t think of the bigger picture and get too involved taking things extremely seriously, as I say to my class, life is too short to worry and argue about things that don’t matter. Put in 100% to everything you do, as long as you try your best everyone is a winner!

Powerful colours are in the world and purple is one of them
Up and down the purple shade goes and the middle is my favourite one of those
Respect people for their gender
Purple is worn by the royal family
Lilac is a shade of purple and it is a flower
Every colour matters
