Some coaching advice for the Lionesses…
Meet Miss Bennett
Year 5 teacher at Cavendish
What was your favourite sport at primary school?
Football – all you needed (at most) was a ball and two posts (school jumpers). Everyone could be included, from two players to 40 players.
What value is most important to you?
Fairness – always treat people the way you would like to be treated, no matter who they are. Combined with having a positive attitude, this encourages good things to happen.
What is your favourite hobby?
Skiing – it’s exercising without you realising. It’s always lots of fun with friends and family and there are opportunities to push yourself mentally and physically. Great food too and fantastic views!
How well do you think England will do in the World Cup?
I am aware that the England team have brilliant players. I think they will either come close or win!
Which country in the world would you like to visit?
Japan during the blossom season.
It is illegal not to visit your parents regularly if they are over 60 years old.
A new skyscraper is built every five days.
Facebook has been banned since 2009.
I like that football is entertainment and has lots of cool things to do.
There are lots of skills and the crowd is encouraging and keeps your hopes up when the team is playing.
You can buy and wear your team’s kit and you can support them.
You can score AMAZING goals for your team and you can qualify for cups and win trophies. And you can win trebles and be the best team in the world!
But it’s all about working together – that helps you win as a team. That is the whole point of football – working together!
Never give up!
