“I think Kickaround is very good because it is easy to find what you need and is easy to ready because of the way it is set out. It is worded in a way that makes it interesting and my favourite bit was the Mascot Matches – very funny.”
I like football because when you play it shows your spirit. When the match begins you might feel stressed because you might lose in a horrible way or you might win in an amazing way. When you score a goal you think it’s the best and get over excited, but that’s when you can lose control and end up losing the game.
Australia is the sixth largest country in the world by area.
The name comes from the Latin word ‘australis’, which means ‘southern’.
The country is sometimes known as the ‘island continent’ because it is so huge.
It is thought there have been people in Australia for around 45000 years.
The biggest reef system in the world is called The Great Barrier Reef, on the north eastern side of the country.
Australia has more than 750 reptile species, more than all the other countries in the world.
Discrimination is bad because it discourages people from doing all the things they live to do. It comes in many different forms, but the main two are sexism and racism.
Sexism is when the opposite gender (usually male) insults the other gender. This can lead to very low self esteem.
Racism is when one race insults another race based on their skin colour or their culture. This means anybody could be a victim of racism.
I think the most important value is honesty, so people know what to improve on and what to still work on but not as hard. Honesty also means you won’t cheat or lie to get your own way.
My favourite part is when Alex Morgan says to her father (who wants her to be a baseball player) that she wants to be a footballer. Everyone is very supportive and her dad gives her private lessons. Her first team was Bears then Cal, which she got into by a scholarship. Her final team was the women’s American team and she got to play in the World Cup. Her team won the cup 5-2 against Japan in 2015.
I think the book is very well written because I don’t like football but I was able to enjoy it.
This is one of four biographies about leading women footballers that are being reviewed by our bloggers – each book will have two reviews. You can find out more about the complete series at Ultimate Football Heroes.
If there was no tolerance we would not deal with the problems in the correct way. People would take immediate action instead of consulting someone. It is how you put up with things.
